Pronunciation Rule

The "Square" Rule

When a word contains two of the same letter in a row — a double consonant (LL, SS, PP) or a double vowel (OO, EE) — do not repeat the Tut syllable twice. Instead, say "square" + the syllable once. This keeps Tut smooth, rhythmic, and natural when spoken aloud.

"square" is spoken aloud as a word — it signals to the listener that the letter appears twice in the original English word. This applies equally to double consonants and double vowels.
